Join Amanda for a gorgeous afternoon of slow stitching.
Bring a friend or come by yourself. We are all about building community through creativity here at Stir & Stitch! It is very special when a group of kindred spirits get together & create!
We will sit together, learn together, eat together and take time out just for you.
This workshop is suitable for beginners & beyond. Spaces are strictly limited.
Slow Stitching Embroidery
Slow Stitching involves taking small pieces of fabric, a needle, and thread and using simple stitches to create a piece without a set pattern. With this meditative practice, you learn to listen to your creativity and allow your hands to go with the flow.
Slow stitching is also about using what we already have, repurposing & extending the life of worn clothing and textiles, and slowing down.
Your finished piece will be A4 size and can be sewn onto clothing, a bag, a journal cover, or even framed as a work of art!
What is included:
+ All equipment required to complete your projects, including one of Amanda's carefully curated Slow Stitch Kits valued at $30;
+ Our kits include a variety of vintage/upcycled fabrics & embellishments to choose from - You don't need to bring a thing! However, if you have any bits & pieces that you would like to use at home, please feel free to bring them along;
+ Afternoon Tea & bottomless refreshments will be made available throughout the afternoon. Please get in touch with us if you have any dietary requirements;
+ Time out to connect & be creative.
