Learn to Cook!
Join Amanda for six weeks of 100% hands-on life skill cooking classes where your child will learn to cook delicious, inexpensive, fresh food dishes, introducing healthy habits for life in a fun and positive way.
Learning to cook for themselves, their family, and their friends is one of the most essential life skills your child can have. It will give them huge amounts of independence and confidence, setting them up for the future.
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. If required, each step will be demonstrated first, & help is always there if assistance is needed.
This course is half demo and half practical. We cook in groups or pairs, depending on the dish.
Learning in a fun and interactive setting, Amanda will demonstrate some dishes with student participation, and others will be hands-on for participants to cook themselves.
Everyone will take home tasters for their families to try the delicious food you have created!

What is included?
🥗 We supply everything you need, including ingredients, aprons and a jam-packed recipe book for you to print out;
🥗 Take home tasters of dishes cooked;
🥗 Learning lots of tasty dishes with minimal ingredients;
🥗 How to read recipes, choose ingredients and learn where our food comes from;
🥗 Learn to use what we already have in the pantry and to cook with what is on special and in season;
🥗 Working through different cooking methods, building on skills learnt each week;
🥗 All the basics about food & kitchen safety;
🥗 Safe knife skills;
🥗 All about cooking utensils and what they are used for;
🥗 Teamwork;
🥗 Time Management Skills.

The Details:
Cost: $55 per week ($50 plus GST).
Total Investment: $ 330 ($300 plus GST)
When: Each Tuesday for 6 weeks starting 7th May
7th, 14th, 21st, 28th May, 4th June, 11th June
Time: 4pm to 530pm
Who: Boys & Girls 8 years & over

CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICIES
If you forget to attend (we do not send reminders, please put on your calendar!) or have a prior commitment, we cannot provide a refund, credit or transfer if you have not given 48 hours’ notice.
However, if you give us 48 hours’ notice we will be able to issue you with a credit to use towards another class of the same value in a 12-month period, or you can pass your ticket onto a friend to attend instead.
+ All bookings need to be made online on our booking page.
+ Your seat is secured once we receive full payment.
+ We have class minimums to meet, if we do not meet them and need to cancel a class we may do so at any time (& we will call to let you know asap). You will be offered a full refund or a credit to attend a class at the same value within a 12-month period.
+ Please set a reminder and double-check workshop dates + times.
Because we have held this spot for you, bought the supplies/ingredients, organised staff and turned others away, we cannot issue credits or a refund if you don’t turn up or cancel at the last minute.
